Where & what is Plant Zero?
Plant Zero is one of the coolest creative spaces in town, and has been home to the Spring Bada-Bing for 3 years now.

Plant Zero is located at 0 E. 4th Street Richmond, VA 23224. This is directly off of Hull Street in the Manchester District of Southside Richmond. (Note: some mapping software gets confused by this address--if you encounter this problem, you can use 7 E. 3rd St, which is the secondary entrance to Plant Zero.)

Is there an admission or ticket price for shoppers?
Heck no! Free, baby, free.

Is there anywhere to park?
You betcha! Plant Zero has a large parking lot directly across from the main entrance. There is also an overflow lot at the corner of 4th & Stockton.

I want to sell my stuff, what do I need to do?
Spring Bada-bing is a juried show and each year we receive many more applications than we have room to accommodate. Interested vendors must apply by filling out and submitting our online application. Applications are accepted through midnight March 5th.

There is a non-refundable, non-transferable $5.00 application fee that must be paid when your application is submitted. Accepted applicants will be notified via email by March 23, 2010. Pretty please, don't contact us prior to that date to check on the status of your application. Don't fret, we will totally let you know!

How much will this cost me?
The booth fee for vendors is $65.00. Want your booth to sparkle and glow with electricity? There is an additional $10 fee for electricity.

Admission to the show is free for shoppers/visitors and the show is open to the public.

What size is each vendor's space?
Each vendor will receive a 6 foot table and a reasonable amount of space to sit behind the table. Space is tight at this show and vendor set-ups will be limited to this 6 foot table. If a vendor elects to decline the 6 foot table and bring an alternate display (such as clothing racks), their set up must be no larger than 6 feet wide by approximately 5 feet deep. Vendors who plan on bringing an alternate set-up should indicate this on their application (or inform us no later than 3 weeks prior to the show) as this will affect where we can place you in the venue. As this is an indoor venue, tents are not permitted.

Are tables provided?
Yes. One (1) 6ft x 2.5ft rectangular table and two (2) folding chairs are provided at each booth.

When are the booth fees due ?
Booth fees are due by April 1, 2010. Sorry, but there are no exceptions (no April Fools here)! We have posters and flyers to print, advertising to buy, the list goes on and on! You can pay via paypal or check. For full payment instructions, follow the link provided to you in your acceptance email. If you have lost or deleted this email, please send a message to
springbadabing@gmail.com

I'm just starting to do craft shows. Can I apply to the show with a crafty friend?
Yes, we are allowing booth sharing this year. Please follow the directions listed on the application if you want to share a booth. Collectives and Indie Craft Boutiques are welcome to apply.

I bake a mean vegan cupcake. Can I apply and sell food?
Mmmm...sounds good, but no food vendors of any kind are allowed at the show.

I am an Avon/Silpada Jewelry/Beauty Control associate. Can I apply?
Sorry, but Spring Bada-Bing is exclusively for hand-made items.

What if something comes up and I can't make it? Can I get my booth fee back?
Man, we hope everyone will be able to make it! If you get accepted and need to cancel, you'll need to let us know by April 7th so we can refund your booth fee. After that date, the booth fee is nonrefundable.

I can't make it, can I trade/sell my booth space?
No, because this is a juried show selling or trading of booth space is prohibited. We select vendors based on the quality and type of products listed on their application, and will select vendors from our waiting list should a space open up.

I missed the application deadline, is there a waiting list for spots?
No. Due to the large number of applicants, our waiting list consists exclusively of vendors who applied by the deadline. No new applicants are added to the waitlist and no late applications are accepted after the deadline has passed. Please do not contact us with requests to be put on the waiting list after the application deadline has passed. However, do be sure to join our mailing list to receive notification when we begin accepting applications for next year's show.

I was a vendor in your holiday show, but I didn't get into Spring Bada-Bing. What gives?
While we do not comment on individual applications, we can say that our holiday show is made up exclusively of local vendors, but Spring Bada-Bing draws applicants from all over the East Coast (and sometimes even farther away!), so competition for spots is pretty fierce. We love our Handmade Holiday vendors, but we're not always able to include all of you in our spring show. We absolutely want you to re-apply for the holiday show though!

I'm coming in from out of town. Where can I sleep?
Here are some area hotels. Please note that we've never stayed at some of these hotels and are not vouching for their greatness. All we know is that they're close to the show. Period. Stay at your own risk.

The price ranges listed are good at the time of writing, but please contact the hotel for current rates. Prices were found using either Hotels.com or the hotel's website.

Commonwealth Park Suites - $99-189

What about that pesky sales tax? Do I have to collect it?
Due to Virginia state law, all vendors must collect and pay the 5% VA sales tax. You must apply for a VA sales tax account number in advance, but you can request that the account be closed after you've sent in the tax payment. You can apply online at the Virginia Dept. of Tax website or you can download the PDF file here.
