What made you start working in your craft? Was it a dream? Was it an accident? Was it payment on a bet?
I always was a crafter and a sewer. I use to hand sew little smocks on my teddy bear out of old clothes. So, it was always a goal to be a designer, derailed a little during my teenage years by negative, toxic school counselors and teachers but I got back on track.
Where do you work? What does your fantasy work space look like?
Right now, I am almost moved into the spare bedroom of the house now business headquarters. More space, more cubby holes. But I still do most of my cutting and ironing in front of the TV in the living room. My dream studio would be well organized and stocked, a TV, lots of space and storage, the latest gadgets in sewing and did I mention by the beach anywhere.
We all have vending horror stories but has anything really really GOOD ever happened to you?
I haven't had anything super terrific happen...yet!
If you had to pick a superhero spokesman for Nicole Lee Designs who would it be and why?
Batman...and the girls know why!
Working on your craft can be a solitary and sometimes lonely venture. What keeps you company?
I always sew with headphones and music blasting. It is always something up tempo, and can range from The Temptations to Metallica.
We all have dreams of money – but what would you do if you had the TIME?
I would travel.
Crafting beverage of choice?
Diet Dr. Pepper and Fiji water
What is the one craft tool you can not live without?
IF this doesn't include the sewing machine itself, it would be the Fasturn kit. It takes all frustration out of making fabric tubes for self fabric bag handles.
